2017

A new year is a time for new resolutions.

It’s almost a running joke of sorts that new year resolutions are made to broken, but as time goes by, it actually becomes more important to sit and reflect on the changes in your life, and what we plan to do to go forward.

The older we get it actually becomes a lot easier to get caught up in trivialities, and time passes by so quickly that weeks melt into months.

I’m sure we’ve all sat down and asked ourselves at the end of the year, where did the time really go?

It is too easy indeed for life to pass us by, and too easy for us to get caught up and become complacent in the things that are happening. At some point in our lives, if we do not press that pause button to catch a breath, it is too easy to continue on with the machinations of life.

Work, eat, sleep. The occasional break. Repeat.

Sometimes it is that cycle that puts us on autopilot, and without that conscious will to live each day as fully as we are able to, life will all too easily pass by without any significant changes, without true purpose or reason.

This year, I want to be more aware of the life that I’m living.

This year I’d like to try harder.

This year is all about today.
