Coffee Coffea Subang

Like mushrooms after the rain, coffee shops have been springing up left, right and centre in SS15 – needless to say, traffic aside, it was still tempting enough to try out the different joints that were open just to check out the changes to the local scene.

Coffee Coffea looked really nice from the outside, from its fancy sign and hanging wall garden and a glimpse of the warm wooden interior through the glass panels.

The interior is reasonably spacious, not overcrowded or cramped up like some coffee joints are. The wooden finishings add a very warm feeling to the place, and this is emphasized by the warm lighting. There’s possibly an upstairs (which I did not venture to) and if you’re lucky you’ll get one of the more comfortable padded chairs alongside the wall.

I tend to judge a place by their hot chocolate and this place was average. Normal hot chocolate, a bit on the dark side maybe with a normal milky finish – not bad, but not my normal chocolatey love though. For those who prefer their hot chocolate dark, they may like the hot chocolate here. My friend liked their coffee though, and they do have their own selection of beans - Maestro and Madonna. They also have green tea lattes, for those inclined for a more exotic twist and it seems like quite a popular choice!

Love the coffee art!

Prices were comparable to Starbucks, with drinks between RM10-13. For non coffee drinkers they also had a range of ice-blended concoctions and teas. They had a decent selection of cakes as well (spotted a red velvet that looked quite inviting but didn’t actually get around to trying it out).

On the upside, staff were generally friendly and seemed to be quite updated on their recommendations, keen to help out customers choose an item from their fairly extensive menu.

I’m probably not the biggest fan of this place, but it is a nice café to head for the ambience and one of the ones in Subang that opens quite late on the weekends. After all, to each their own.  :)
