Leave Your Anger

I know you’re angry.

Take a deep breath.

You were always quick to anger, the quick burn without warning, and more often than not you would scald yourself in the process. Hurt someone with those words, so carelessly said, words meant to cut and inflame, to scald – but with all things burnt, the heat simmers down, leaving raw exposed elements.

Calm that anger.

Find something to channel it into, channel it into something beautiful or productive – burn out the flames in the intensity of a run, or release the emotions in a rush of music, or find an outlet to turn that fiery passion into something else.

Leave no room for self-pity.

Leave no room to play the blame game.

Breathe.
