Missing A Step

We used to love, you and I.

We used to dance, dance cheek to cheek in the lazy languid rhythm that only lovers know, that age old dance to the beat of each other's hearts. We used to waltz to the beat of invisible violins, delicately avoiding each other's toes, because even lovers tend to have the occasional misstep.

We used to love, you and I.

But even love has the occasional misstep, and in grand fashion, we both missed our steps and ended up dancing a very different dance indeed.

But we still dance.
We both do.
